DIY Coco Olive Oil Treatment
Frequent washing and styling may make your hair look good; but, over time, it robs off natural moisture and shine from your tresses. When that happens, your hair becomes frizzy, and dried out. If you want to give your hair the radiance that it deserves, be sure to try out this recipe using some of the best nourishing oils.
Coconut oil in itself is quite beneficial to natural hair. It has excellent moisturizing properties. But the addition of both olive and almond oils in this recipe helps prevent the coconut oil from solidifying when stored at room temperature. This natural oil treatment is best used warm.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of melted coconut oil
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of almond oil
Directions:
Pour the oil into a saucepan and put over low heat. Keep stirring to prevent the oil from burning. When the oil mixture is well blended, turn off the heat and set aside to cool down. When the mixture has cooled, pour into a squeeze bottle. Your hot oil treatment is then ready for application.
Divide your hair into at least 4 sections. Apply the warm oil directly to your damp hair starting from the root down to the tip. Do the application one section at a time to ensure even coating.
Massage oil gently onto your scalp. Then, use a shower cap to cover your head. Leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes to make sure the oil penetrates deep into your hair follicles. When you're done, rinse completely and style your hair as usual.
