๐ฟ DIY Peppermint Flaxseed Hair Gel ๐ฟ
Tired of store-bought hair gels with harsh chemicals? Try making your own natural and nourishing hair gel at home! Our easy DIY recipe uses simple, wholesome ingredients to create a flaxseed-based gel that will leave your hair looking and feeling fabulous. Here's what you'll need:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of distilled water
- 1/4 cup of whole flax seeds
- 2 teaspoons of peppermint oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of vitamin E oil
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the distilled water and flax seeds. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
2. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The flax seeds will release a gel-like substance as they simmer.
3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes. As it cools, the gel will thicken.
4. Place a fine-mesh strainer over a bowl and carefully pour the gel through the strainer to separate the flax seeds from the gel. Use a spoon to press the gel out of the seeds and into the bowl.
5. Once strained, add the peppermint oil and vitamin E oil to the gel. Stir gently to ensure the oils are well incorporated.
6. Transfer the gel to a clean, airtight container for storage. Store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
Usage:
This DIY flaxseed hair gel can be applied to damp hair to define curls or control frizz. It can also be used as a styling gel to hold hair in place. Simply apply a small amount to the hair and style as desired. Remember to perform a patch test before using any new product, especially if you have sensitive skin or known allergies to any of the ingredients.
